The leaves were rustling in the wind that whipped past her window, screaming and crying in the night.
As if she hadnt done enough of that already.
Help us! They called. Help us!
Go away. She mumbled, yanking the blankets up over her head.
She wanted nothing to do with them. There was no place for her there; all she wanted was to be rid of this curse they brought upon her.
The symphony of winds called her name, taunting her, tempting her into their ghostly chorus.
Get out of here! She growled, throwing back the covers and stomping over to the window to slam it shut.
Sinking back into bed, she broke into tears for the hundredth time. Go away. She sobbed again. Just
go away.
Slowly, sleep washed over the girl, allowing her leave from her demons for just a little while, at least.
Somewhere, far in the distance, past her realm of dreams, a wolf howled, piercing the night sounds with his melancholy song.
